ARDALA DEE HERNANDEZ*
HERNANDEZ, ARDALA DEE Ardala D. Hernandez, 76, passed away on October 18, 2009, of Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Amelia, Ohio, on November 10, 1933, she moved to San Lorenzo, California, in the 1940’s. She married her beloved husband Julio on December 24, 1949, in Berkley, California. She had five children, Greg, Paul, David, Donna and Julie. She was a longtime resident of Poway since 1964. Ardala, a woman and believer of high moral values and beliefs, maintained high standards in her everyday life. Due to these personal characteristics, she immediately fit in with the Chaplin’s office at MCAS. She retired from Civil Service after serving there for 28 years, receiving the Department of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Medal. Ardala is survived by her husband Julio, five children, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She will be so severely missed by her loved ones that no words or measurements can be utilized to describe the love of mom, Ardie, grandma. A memorial Service will be held at MCAS Chapel on Saturday, October 31st, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation may be sent to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025.
