Hersch E. Bayes, Died peacefully in his sleep at home., 1/28/1911-10/16/2009, Born in Lansing Michigan, survived by his wife of 16 years, Anelda. Hersch had three daughters; Lilabeth, Roselind and Michele. He had nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren., Hersch came from the Modesto Probation Office to be Chief Probation Officer of Solano County from 1953 to 1973. He was an Eagle Scout and belonged to the Sierra Club, Audubon Society and Kiwanis Club., Our precious husband, dad and grandpa, whom we love so dearly, will be deeply missed., Make a memorial contribution

Bethany Stevens, 67, of Rohnert Park, CA, passed away peacefully after a sudden and brief illness, on Wednesday, October, 28, 2009, surrounded by the love of her two daughters, at Petaluma Valley Hospital. Bethany was born February 25, 1942 in Salem, MA to William and Barbara Brown. She attended grade school in Camden, Maine and graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel, ME in 1960 and from LaSalle Junior College in MA in 1962 with a degree in childhood education. As a stewardess for Pan American Airlines, Bethany traveled around the world and was stationed on the West Coast where she met and married Ted Stevens. They moved to New Hampshire, where they raised their daughters Amy and Holly. The family moved back to the West Coast in 1993. Beth held various interesting jobs before happily settling in to her current teaching position at Learning to Learn in Petaluma, CA, where she’s worked and played since 1996. She was enjoying another fun-filled day at school with her colleagues and students when she collapsed suddenly of a massive stroke. Bethany is loved by many friends, co-workers, students and their families. She is survived by her two daughters: Amy Frydenlund, husband Jeff, and their daughters Nicole and Rylie of Folsom, CA; Holly Haavik and her children Heather and Chance of Rohnert Park, CA; husband Ted Stevens of Copalis Beach, WA; brother Pete Brown and his wife Joy of Camden, ME; sister Sue Ayer of Topsham, ME; sister Kathie Brown of Lincolnville, ME, and nine nieces and nephews and their families. A memorial service to celebrate her beautiful and full life will be held on Sunday, November 1st at 3:00 p.m. at New Life Christian Fellowship, 1310 Clegg Street, Petaluma, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue, P.O. Box 448, Cotati, CA 94931. Bruce Allan Black , CA, Jan. 29, 1940 - Oct. 24, 2009, On October 24, 2009 after 69 years of life, Bruce Allan Black, departed his worldly home in, Eagle Point,, Oregon and joined the Lord in eternal life., He is survived by his wife Carol Black, son Jeff Black (Melanie), grandchildren, Reagan and Patrick Black along with his brother Michael Black (Laurie)., Bruce was born on January 29, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to Howard Black and Bernice McAdon and was followed by brothers Michael and Darryl. He first married on July 6, 1963 and with Loretta Jacoby, raised their son Jeff in Stockton, California. As he supported his family, Bruce’s professional life included six years of service in the California Army National Guard and over thirty years of service with Bank of America from which he retired as a Vice President., Throughout his life, Bruce was fascinated with language and acquiring knowledge, spending much of his free time reading, solving crossword puzzles and defeating unwary opponents at Scrabble. Bruce also enjoyed golfing, antiquing and gardening. His love of nature led him to transform his home in the Morada area of Stockton into an artful park setting., To fulfill a desire to live on the coast, Bruce and Carol moved to Brookings, Oregon. From there they explored the coast line of Northern California and the entire Oregon coast, taking note of lighthouses which were of special interest to Bruce. After living the coastal life, they moved inland to Eagle Point, Oregon., Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Darryl in 1976 and his late wife Loretta of 31 years in 1995., Services will be provided by Conger-Morris and held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009 in the Evergreen Chapel onsite at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, California located at Highway 99 and Harney Lane. Randy was the first born to Louis and Lillian in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Jan. 16, 1948. The family has lived in Los Angeles since 1962. Randy received a full honorable discharge from the US Army for his service during the Vietnam War. He lived comfortably with his pets near the beach for surfing and near his boat for enjoyment of the waters.
