Arlene A. Anderson (Garni)
Arlene A. (Garni)Anderson age 86, passed away peacefully on December 25th Christmas Day.She had been in ill health since August. Arlene was born October 10th 1923 in Danbury. She graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and Danbury high School. In 1943 Arlene married the late Robert E. Anderson. She is the daughter of the late Frederick and Sophie (Schmolinger) Garni. She worked at WLAD for 40 years and was the weather girl on the Breakfast Show. She also worked along with Paul Baker and Abe Najamy on Thursday nights at Reaps. After she retired she volunteered her services at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Arlene is survived by her daughter, Toni Fanning and her husband Skip Fanning of Perkinsville, Vermont. She is also survived by her step granddaughter Melanie and step great-grandson Aidan; and her sister Frieda (Garni) Stebbins of MA; Along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Arlene is predeceased by her oldest sister Elsa. Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 30th at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Danbury at 11:00am with burial at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery to follow. Family may receive friends on Tuesday, December 29th between the hours of 2pm and 4pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St. Danbury.
