Alice June and Harry Gregg Sr.
ALICE JUNE & HARRY GREGG SR. Alice June Gregg, age 78 passed away July 1, 2009, at home with family by her side. Born May 24, 1931, in Elco, Penn. to parents, Herbert & Myrtle Barton. She had 7 siblings who preceded her in death. Harry, age 79, followed his wife of 60 years to be with the Lord on January 13, 2010. He is survived by 5 si blings. Harry was born in Long Branch, PA, February 28, 1930, to Harriet & Jacob Gregg. They resided in S.B. County for 51 years, where they raised their 4 children, Harry Jr. (deceased), (Yvonne), Gail (Steve), Mike (deceased) and Kathy (Kip). They had 5 grandchildren and on February 5th a great granddaughter was born. Alice was retired from Fontana Unified School District, as a Baker at Alder Jr. High School. Harry was retired from Kaiser Steel, where he was a heavy equipment operator. They had many friends during their life, some for more than 55 years, they loved and cherished each & every one of them. They will be missed but always close by in our hearts. May they rest in peace.

Allison Borland Close
Died peacefully at her home in Forestville on February 10, 2010 at the age of 87. She was preceded in death six months earlier by her husband of 67 years, Franklin D. Close. Cherished mother of Susan Close-Weber. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer (Daniel) Scheiber and William (Tamara) Weber. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Alan & Samantha Scheiber and William & Mia Weber. After attending Cal-Berkeley, she married and supported her husband and family through World War II, Medical School, and the Korean War. Moving to Hayward, she spent the next thirty years involved in her community through the League of Women Voters and the PTA. She also attended California State University Hayward where she obtained a degree in Social Sciences. At death, she was living on an apple ranch in Forestville which had been in her husband’s family for over 100 years, just a few miles from her childhood home on Hessel Rd. She was a soft spoken, sweet and loving woman whose strength, when needed, was amazing. She will be remembered and missed terribly by all her family and friends. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Donations in her name may be made to the National Wildlife Federation. Family assisted by ~ PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY-SEBASTOPOL, 829-5433.

Alvin Kenneth Link
LINK-Alvin Kenneth Link, passed away February 23, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 17, 1917. He received Bachelor’s and Mas ter’s degrees from Columbia University in New York and obtained a CPA certificate from the state of New York. He served as Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer of Layne and Bowler Pump Company in the City of Industry for many years. He was active for many years with Children’s Home Society of California, a large child welfare agency, first with the Los Angeles district on its Board of Directors and later on C.H.S.’ state board, eventually being elected President. He is survived by his wife Eileen Patr icia Cole Link, four children, Diane B. Link of Alhambra, Susan L. (J. Michael) Flanagan of San Marino, Kenneth R. Link of San Marino, and Richard A. (Kathy) Link of Altadena, and four grandchildren, Ashley Flanagan Slaughter, Ryan R. Flanagan, Jonathan Link, and David Link. Memorial Mass will be Wednesday, March 3 at 1:00 pm at SS Felicitas and Perpetua, San Marino, CA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to USC Norris Cancer Center. Cabot & Sons, Pasadena Directors.

Anthony Pueyo
Anthony Pueyo Born March 27, 1919, died in Burlingame on February 23, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Eileen Pueyo to whom he was married for over 46 years. He was a loving father to his sons Martin Pueyo of Phoenix , Michael Pueyo of Burlingame, Brendan Pueyo of San Francisco, the late Anthony Pueyo, and the late Robert Pueyo. He was the cherished grandfather of Joseph, Theresa, Vincent, Thomas, Steven, Anthony, Kelly, and Brian. He was the treasured father-in-law of Christine Pueyo and Sylvia Yu. He was the brother of Stephen Pueyo of Rancho Cordova. Anthony was known more affectionately as ‘Tony’ by friends. Tony was born in Flagstaff, Arizona. He moved to San Francisco as a teenager. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the 32nd Medical Battalion. Tony returned to San Francisco after the war. Tony retired from the United States Postal Service after a career of over 30 years. Friends and family are invited to a visitation and rosary service that will be held on Monday, March 1st, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Crosby- N. Gray & Co., at 2 Park Road in Burlingame. A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Burlingame on March 2, 2010. Burial will take place after the funeral mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. BENNETT, Ada Ruth
1917 - 2010 Ada Ruth Bennett went to be with our Lord after a decline in health at 92. She was born in South Dakota to William and Mina Bennett. Ada left South Dakota at age 16 with her parents to join her brothers, Walter and Frank in Santa Barbara. Ada married Raymond and had a son, Robert. Ada was a homemaker and lived in Fresno until age 40.
