Armando Altamura
Armando Altamura returned to his heavenly father on March 4, 2010, at age 82 after a brief illness. Armando was born and raised in Italy. He was a long-time resident of Vallejo, CA, where he lived with his wife of 57 years, Tina Altamura, and where they raised their only child, Antoinette Armando. He married his bride in 1953. In 1967, they both came over to America for a better life and to be with family., Armando worked at C & H sugar refinery for over 22 years until he retired at the age of 62. He was known as a strong man who never sat still and was always seen working on his yard, which he took such pride in. Armando knew everyone and was loved by all who got the chance to know him., Armando is preceded in death by his mom, Antoinetta, and younger brother, Romano., He is survived by his wife, daughter and his four precious granddaughters, Danielle, Jennifer, Brianna and Becky. Armando’s face lit up when he spoke of his grandkids. He is also survived by his great- granddaughter, Liliana, which was his newest pride and joy, and his youngest brother, Augusto Altamura of Fresno., Armando had the will to live but his body just couldn’t keep up. He went peacefully with his family cheering him on to his journey. He will be missed, he will never be forgotten and he will be loved forever., My daddy was my hero so I invite all to come and celebrate his life with us. Celebration of the Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Basil’s Catholic Church, Vallejo.
