PostHeaderIcon Alexander Burton “Burt” Keel

A. B. Keel (Burt) was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on September 15, 1923 and moved to California shortly thereafter. He died April 26, 2010 after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease for eleven years. He served in the Army Air Corps as a navigator from 1943 to 1945 and then graduated from UCLA and USC Law School. He practiced law for 50 years in Hawthorne, serving as Hawthorne city attorney for 10 years in the 60s. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, formerly Betty Hannah; daughters, Sandy Calderon and Susan Keel; four grandchildren, Brian and Kevin Ziegenbein, Natasha and Ariana Katz; great granddaughter, Kyleigh Ziegenbein; niece, Sharon Angel; nephews, Steven Leland Keel, Larry Keel and Tim Keel; and five grand-nieces and nephews.
