Anna Heredia
Anna Maria Heredia July 25, 1917 - April 27, 2010 Anna Maria Heredia passed away a the age of 92 in Alamo, California. Anna was a long time San Francisco resident and was preceded in death by her beloved husband Marianno Heredia. She is survived by her loving children Frank Heredia, Mar Elena Palmer, Gloria Heredia, Monica Coady, and Lewis P. Heredia; caring grandchildren Tina Watts, Siana Watts, Lucas Heredia, Stephanie Heredia, Frank Heredia Jr., Samuel Aquila-Sanchez, Emilio Aquila-Sanchez, and nieces Rose Guitron, Yvonne Morales, Yvonne Draughon, nephews Alex Guitron, Cecil Tomlin; great-niece Kim Quinteros, and great-great niece Paloma Seligman. Anna was employed by Schenly’s Liquors and Standard Brands and loved cooking, gardening, children, and visiting with her family. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 100 Diamond St., San Francisco on Saturday, May 1 at 11:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow after services at 4 Douglass St., San Francisco at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Bruns House, 2849 Miranda Ave, Alamo, CA.

ANNE SIMON NEVATT LOCKE Anne Simon Nevatt Locke, 87 passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. She was born on September 7th 1922 in Springfield, MO. Anne was President of the Heart Association of San Mateo for a number of years, a volunteer of the Suicide Prevention Hotline and a life long member of the Eastern Star. She taught Art at the Foster City Community Center. She enjoyed painting still and live photos and square dancing. She was best known for saying “I like my coffee hot as well as my men”. Anne is survived by her 4 children, Charles Nevatt, Barbara Russo, Janice Sandin, and Sharon Scurry; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 siblings, Fred Simon and Betty Raymond. Visitation will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 P. M. both at Miller-Jones Moreno Valley Mortuary Chapel. Private burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.

Audrey Vyvyan (Ross) McDermeit
On April 24, 2010 Audrey Vyvyan (Ross) McDermeit passed away peacefully at Parkview Gardens in Santa Rosa, CA where she spent the last two years of her life, at age 83. Audrey was born on May 21, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio to George and Marcella Ross (deceased). One of eight children, Audrey is survived by her only living sibling, her devoted and loving sister, Cathy Rasmussen from Cameron Park, CA. Audrey moved to California as a young woman, attended Ursuline High School in Santa Rosa. Married in 1945 in Oakland, CA. Audrey is the loving mother of Mimi Carreiro of Healdsburg, Albert (Roz) Carusillo of Healdsburg, Gregory Carusillo (deceased), twins Margaret (Ron) Paredes of Hayward, CA and Michael (Lisa) Carusillo of Peralta, NM. In 1963, after the death of her sister-in-law, Audrey adopted and raised as her own her seven nieces and nephews, combing them with her own five children the number grew to 12. Collette DaPrix (deceased), Denise (Craig) Davis, PA, Genine DaPrix, TN, Chuck DaPrix (deceased), Raymond DaPrix (deceased), Daniel (Jane) DaPrix, PA, and Robert (Robin) DaPrix, TN. Audrey moved her family to Sonoma County in the late 60’s. She owned and operated bars and restaurants in Cloverdale, CA. The Egg Basket, The Lockhorn and most notably, in the early 1970s, The Depot Hotel where her generosity was well-known to all who stopped by for a meal, wanted to shoot pool, have a drink or stay for the night. Audrey moved to Lake County in 1990 and back to Healdsburg in 2001 where she continued to work caring for the elderly. Audrey is also survived by her 20 grandchildren (affectionately known to them as MaMa); 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memories of Audrey include wonderful home-cooked meals, gathering with her family, whom she loved dearly, some born into it, some taken in. Her wonderful voice. She could jump into any song, knowing every word, capturing your attention for hours. She was a favorite among the people at Parkview, especially at music time. Audrey, as we all knew her, could tear down and re-build anything. A master at painting and wallpapering. She was a generous giver of herself and everything she had. Family and Friends are invited to a memorial service to share memories and celebrate Audrey’s life on Sunday, May 16th at Geyserville Christian Church, 21300 Geyserville Avenue, in the town of Geyserville at 1:30 p.m.
