Sandy Sporleder
RIVERSIDE SANDY SPORLEDER Passed away peacefully in the presence of her family in Riverside, California on June 23, 2010. Sandy enjoyed a full life with her early years in the Army Air Corp. and then proceeded to fulfill her dreams of seeing the world. She was an avid traveler with a passion for life that lead her to destinations from the jungles of Southeast Asia to the bazaars of Istanbul. Preceded in death by her husband Jack W. Sporleder, her surviving family members include her daughters Sherry Adams & Joy Sporleder and her four grandchildren, Zoe, Rex, Mat & Wade. Memorial services will be held on Thursday July 1, at 12:15 PM in the Riverside National Cemetery. Shirley (Hollenbeck) Giamongo, age 82, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010. Born in Chicago, IL she resided in Rutherford, NJ prior to settling in Fair Lawn 57 years ago. Shirley attended the Fair Lawn Bible Church. A woman with a strong commitment to service, she served as an officer for the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and was a member of the Bergen County Republican Committee. Shirley’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Michael A. Giamongo. Loving mother of Pat Capozzi and her husband Richard and Lynn O’ Donnell and her husband John. Cherished grandmother of Kristin Detamore and her husband Tom, Brian Capozzi, Emily Emhardt and her husband Craig and Christopher O’ Donnell. Devoted great grandmother to Tyler Detamore. Dear sister of Frazier Hollenbeck and his wife Charlotte and the late Charlotte Wolthouse. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, June 30, 2010, 10 a.m. at Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. The Family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. A. JAY LOWRY (1949-2010) A. Jay Lowry age 60, born Nov. 18, 1949 in Phoenix, AZ, resident of Nuevo, CA for 13 years, died June 20, 2010. Jay served his country in the US Army and was in Vietnam from 1970-1971. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Mary, his two daughters Brandy, and Holly, and granddaughters Kailani, Michaela, Jaylynn, and Taylor. Services will be held June 29, viewing at Arlington Mortuary in Riverside at 10am, and funeral services at Riverside National Cemetery at 11:45am.

ALFRED FEDO
ALFRED FEDO passed away at his home in Rialto on May 27, 2010, at the age of 89. Al’s memory is cherished and celebrated by his wife of 69 years, Frances Fedo; daughters, Andrea Street and Bonita Weavingearth; and son in law, Denny Fujikawa. Al, active in his local CWA union, retired from AT&T in 1983 after 38 years. Al served in the Pacific Theatre with the US Marines during World War II, and again in Korea with the National Guard. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Fedo and Josephine Bielski, brothers, Richard Bielski and Ray Fedo of Michigan.

Died on June 5, 2010. He was born in Oakland, CA. on June 19, 1931 to Burton Armstrong & Catherine Armstrong. He graduated from Oakland Technical High School in 1949. As a young boy he was his uncle’s “bat boy”, which started his baseball career. He played “Triple-A” in the minors from 1950 to 1956. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Okinawa in The Korean War.

Served in the U.S. Marine Corp during Korean War, worked for Kaiser Steel 18 years and Rialto U.S.D. 10 years. Survived by wife Margaret; children, Gerald, Richard and wife, Sherry, Bill, and Scott; his sisters, Rachel Hartung, Esther and Jake Hartung, Mary Austin, and Ruth Headley; and many nieces and nephews. He has 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Preceding in death are his parents, Jacob and Molly, siblings, Annie, Jacob Jr., Harold, Ben, Molly Dillman, and Martha Schleagle. Private Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Riverside.
