lorence Teresa Molle Simpson 77, beloved wife, mother, grand-mother, sister and dear friend of many, passed away on July 2, 2010 after a courageous battle with breast and bone cancer. She was born September 10, 1932 to Dr. Louis and Virginia Molle in Port Angeles, Wash. Her parents moved to Long Beach, Calif. when she was just six months of age and where her father opened his first California medical practice. After ten years, the family moved to Redlands, Calif. where she attended both private and public schools. She met her future husband, Robert J. Simpson there; she and Bob were married in the Sacred Heart Church in Redlands on December 25, 1949. Flory was a very vibrant, beautiful and caring person and was loved by many. She was also very active in her school life; a cheerleader, queen of the Prom and Homecoming. After the birth of her four children, she became a very talented tennis player and played the game up to the last year of her life. Flory is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Bob; her four children, Thomas of Las Vegas, Nev., Valerie Gray and her three sons, Robert, Matthew (wife Carrie) and Shane of Newport Beach, Calif., Robert (wife Colette) and his children, Steven and Shannon of Irvine, Calif. and Sherri Skillman (husband Mike) and their children, Hilary, Courtney and Katie of Wellesley, Mass. Flory raised her four children in Woodland Hills, Newport Beach and Corona Del Mar. After her youngest child entered college, Flory became a working wife and spent over ten years happily associated with the Cox & Burch Advertising Agency in Newport Beach. Upon her husband’s retirement from the steel industry in 1998, they moved to the Silver Sands Racquet Club in Palm Desert. She was active in the operation of their H.O.A and friends to many old and new homeowners. She enjoyed the very active social life of their club and became a good member of the desert communities. She did much traveling with Bob throughout her married life, from Caribbean cruises, many trips to Hawaii, and many parts of Europe, but the most desired trips were always with her family and friends spent at North Shore in Lake Tahoe. A gathering of husband, children, grandchildren, relatives and close friends in Newport Beach will be followed by a Memorial Service for all of her out of area and state friends later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Odyssey-Vista Care Hospice Foundation. She will be missed by many.
