Frederick Anthony Cornelius passed away on July 26 after a brief illness at the age of 94., He was born on July 28, 1915, in Dubuque, Iowa., Fred was a Vacaville resident since 1955, who could frequently be seen riding his bicycle and walking for exercise. He was an avid fisherman into his 90s. He was a 20-year United States Navy veteran, serving his country in World War II as a corpsman. He then went to work for the Department of Corrections at the California Medical Facility, where he worked as a medical technician for 23 years., He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Marion. Together, they enjoyed fishing and traveling in their motor home., Fred is survived by his brother, Phillip of East Dubuque, Ill.; and his four children, James (Joann) Cornelius of San Diego, Wayne (Diane Bodine) Cornelius of Magalia, Nancy (Dennis) Voss of Vacaville and Patricia (Paul) Walfoort of Redding. Fred is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren., Fred’s wishes were to be cremated with no services held., Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel, 448-6546, www.mccunechapel.com., , Related Legacies
