SALLY, ALOYSIUS Al passed away September 2, 2010, at San Diego Hospice. Born December 29, 1921, in Youngstown, Ohio, he married his high school sweetheart Mim in 1945. They were a devoted couple and team until her death in 2009. Al was a Naval Aviator in World War II and went on to complete numerous tours of duty before retiring from the Navy in 1964. He was a loving husband and father and an active supporter of many organizations in the San Diego community. His kind, generous spirit has touched many lives, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his beloved son Will, sister Madge Douglass of Youngstown, OH, brother John Sally of Naples, FL, and many nieces and nephews. June 3, 1916 September 24, 2010 Born in Texas to George Washington and Texanna Harrison Tepfer, moved to Ontario in 1937. His wife, Mabel Harris preceded him in death in 2005. Pat retired from the Ontario Fire Department in 1971 after 26 years of service. He is survived by two daughters, Patsy (Joe) Dilks and Brenda (John) Blaine, three grandsons, Tim Dilks, Darren (Shelly) Dilks and Paul Blaine and numerous Great grandchildren. Alan Pasternak
Alan D. Pasternak Was chosen by then-Governor Jerry Brown to be one of the original appointees to the California Energy Commission, where he served from 1975 through 1979. He was previously a member of the scientific staff of Lawrence Livermore Laboratory where he worked on the development of new energy technologies, including coal gasification and the use of methyl alcohol for fuel. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley and his B.S. from Columbia University, where he rowed on the Varsity Lightweight Crew. He graduated from the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York City and after college served as an officer in the, from 1956-1959. After leaving the Energy Commission, Mr. Pasternak worked as a consultant and as the lobbyist and Technical Director of the California Radioactive Materials Management Forum, which he served for the remainder of his career. In 1990 he returned to Livermore part-time to resume his work on energy policy. In that capacity, in 2000 he wrote the paper, “Global Energy Futures and Human Development: A Framework for Analysis,” which addresses the importance of electricity to the developing world. A Google search for that title will return some 1,700 hits representing citation in hundreds of articles and texts. Mr. Pasternak (who eschewed the designation “Doctor”) passed away September 24 at his home in Lafayette, California. He is survived by his wife, Meta L. Pasternak, his children Jeremy, Benjamin, and Emelia, all of San Francisco, and his grandchildren, Abigail and Samuel.

ANTONIO “TONY” GUERRERO Age 59, resident of Fontana, CA for 5 years, formerly of Riverside for 30 years, graduated to Heaven with his family at his side on 09/23/2010. Tony was born 06/16/1951 in Guam. He served in the Navy from 1970-1972. He was a Postal Carrier in Riverside for 34 years. Tony was active in Children\’s Ministry at Harvest (and various other ministries throughout his 34 years at Harvest). Tony is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughters, Rebekah, Rachel and Hannah; sons, Tim and Stephen; grandchildren, Kreshnea, Danae, Timothy Jr., Joseph, Jacob, Derinda, Matthew, Daniel, Madison, Shieyann and Stephen Jr.; mother, Remedios; brothers, John, Ben, Joe, Tommy, Peter and Frankie; sisters, Maria, Liz and Teresa. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus. Visitation 9/29/10 from 5-8pm at Acheson & Graham Mortuary. Funeral 9/30/10, 2pm at Harvest Christian Fellowship Church. Antonio M. “Tony” Guerrero
GUERRERO-Antonio “Tony” M., born in Lamanda Park, CA, passed away September 22, 2010 at his home in Duarte at the age of 84 with his loving family at his side. Antonio was a, veteran, and belonged to the 10th Mountain Division. He participated in the North American and Po Valley campaigns, and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge,, , 2 Bronze Service Stars, and the WWII Victory Medal. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret; and will be sadly missed by his daughters Catherine Guerrero and Lillian (Carl) Conklin; son Steve; grandchildren Steve Jr., Richard, Michael, Ruben, Nicole, and Adam; 2 great granddaughters Emilee and Angela; brothers Frank, Louie, and Daniel; and many nieces and nephews. A Rosary will take place this evening, Tuesday, 7:00pm, at Cabot & Sons Chapel, and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 29th at 10:30AM at Assumption of the BVM Catholic Church, Pasadena.Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Montebello.
