BAINES, William “Preston” April 3, 1944- September 20, 2010 William Preston Baines, son, and friend passed away Monday, September 20, 2010. Preston was born in Santa Monica but lived two-thirds of his life as a resident of Hillside House in Santa Barbara. Preston has joined his mother Harriette, father Bill, and best friend Dirk. Preston will be truly missed. Graveside services are Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Miller-Jones Mortuary, Menifee Valley Memorial Park in Sun City California.

SIGLER BRIAN WARREN Sept. 19, 1938 to Sept. 21, 2010 Brian died peacefully in his home September 21st, 2010. He was a 4th generation Californian of a pioneer family. He graduated Mission Bay High, attended San Diego State University and proudly served in the, . Brian married Susie Steagall in 1980 and they had 30 great years together, camping, fishing and spending time with their family and friends. Brian was retired from many years in the trucking industry. Survivors include his wife Susie, son Scott and his wife Vanessa and their two children, Cali and Cameron, his daughter Katie, his stepson Joel Baker and his two children Jorden and Jenna and his sister Carolyn Burns and family.

Babette M. Davoust Babette M. Davoust, of Long Beach, passed away on September 23, 2010 at the age of 70 of complications associated with her long battle with multiple sclerosis. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanine M. Haller; sons, John P. and Joseph A. Davoust; and her grandchildren, Michael, Jocelle, Daniel, Elizabeth and Luke. She was born in St. Joseph, MO. She worked for 23 years at the Long Beach Post Office, and spent 12 years after her retirement at the Long Beach Care Center, formally known as Willow Lake Nursing Care Center. A memorial mass will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 1, at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, located at 3955 Orange Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90807. At her request, the family will scatter her ashes in Hawaii. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the National MS Society at 2440 S. Sepulveda Blvd, Ste. 115, Los Angeles, CA 90064 or nationalmssociety.org.

BENJAMIN GODINA MARTINEZ BENNY” MAR 31 1934 - SEP 17 2010 Born in San Antonio Texas, raised in Saginaw, Michigan by his parents Lucio and Anita Martinez. Benny passed peacefullly during his sleep at home. He leaves behind his loving wife Sue of 17 years. Served in U.S. Army October 1957 to August 1963. Stationed in Germany 1957 to 1959. He was a member of Saint Anthonys Catholic Church, President of Guadalupana Society, member of the Sociedad Morelos, Member of Cornite Mexicano De Beneficencia, member of the American GI Forum for 10 years. He worked for Tri-Valley Growers plant 7 as a forklift driver and foreman A.F.”, He retired after 32 years with the company. His favorite past time events are dancing, served as coach for little leagues, girls, women and mens baseball teams. He leaves behind two sisters; Mary (Joe) Garcia and Lucy Lopas, both of Bay City Michigan. A son Martin (Rhonda) Martinez of Modesto. Two daughters Anna (Doug) Fiez of Riverbank and Sophia (Eddie) Zuniga of Modesto. A step daughter Kim (Robert) Wilson of Denair. Grand father of 13 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin from 9 A.M. - 8 P.M. on Friday Oct. 1, 2010 at Turlock Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday Oct. 2, 2010 at 1 P.M. Turlock Funeral Home 425 N.
